Parafilm
The two-way stretch sealing film is a pliable tough hermetic seal for laboratory containers. It is free from plasticisers and resistant to polar substances such as saline solutions, inorganic acid and alkaline solutions for up to 48 hours. Resistant to most of the lower alcohols but is unstable in many common solvents such as diethyl ether and carbon tetrachloride. Non-toxic, melting temperature 60°C, stretches up to 200%, clings around irregular shapes and surfaces and conforms to the general requirements of the FDA is used below 55°C.
